Pilates is a form of mind / body fitness founded by Joseph H. Pilates in the 1930's formerly known as " Contrology."

It is a system of exercise
that is based on the synthesis
of eastern and western

philosophies of health and movement.

Pilates focuses on strengthening the core and increasing tone, flexibilty and balance through a specific set of exercises.  

It is a gentle yet powerful way
to stretch and strengthen
the whole body without putting undue stress on the joints.

The Pilates method has been and continues to be used by people
of all ages and fitness levels.
